Suitable hair and skin types

Philips Lumea Prestige works effectively, easily and safely on a wide range of hair and skin types. It delivers results on natural dark blonde, brown and black hair and on skin tones from very white to dark brown. As with other IPL-based hair removal applications, Philips Lumea cannot be used on white/grey, light blonde or red hair and is not suitable for very dark skin tones. This is due to the high contrast of pigments between the hair colour and the skin tone.

Skin phototype sensor

The built-in skin phototype sensor offers safety, as it detects skin color at the beginning of each session, as well as occasionally during the session. If it detects a skin phototype that is too dark for this product, it automatically stops the pulse emission.
